Calatheas are a tropical plant that will add a touch of drama and elegance to your decor. They are also known as a prayer plant because the leaves change position up and down during the day. They need moist soil in Spring- Autumn while in the growing season. Allow to dry out slightly in the winter to avoid root rot. This plant does require extra humidity to reach its full potential, so mist regularly or place on a pebble tray. Calathea typically do not like harsh direct sun, but they do appreciate a bright spot with consistent indirect light. These plants are non-toxic to humans and pets.
