 Seed bombs, a brief history 🐝 🌼 🌸

In 1970s New York, the financial crisis hit. Landlords around the city would abandon buildings and lots, leaving them to crumble into wasteland. and Local group, Green Guerillas, took to beautifying crumbling Manhattan neighbourhoods by tossing “seed grenades” into abandoned lots. They were thrown over fences onto New York City’s wastelands in order to “green up” neglected urban land. Seed bombing, as it’s known today, is definitely punk, but it’s also a cheap and effective way for you, me, and everyone to transform an eyesore into a resource.

These seed bombs contain bee-friendly, native wildflower seeds ready to sprout in the Spring.
